Always possessing a creative side and having a baker in the family, it was only a matter of time before baking and cake decorating found me.
I began baking in 2008 after I was given a basic sponge recipe from a work colleague. This was merely a hobby but my family insisted I had inherited the skill from my nanny Verna who single handedly baked for celebrations and events for 30 years.
By popular demand I baked for family events and friends but I was constantly encouraged to take my interest in baking a step further.
I embarked on a beginner’s course to decorate cupcakes with the Cocoa Box in 2011 and began to practise piping and icing techniques. Still only providing services to family and close friends, before accepting orders I read books and watched online tutorials. Only in 2012 did I begin to photograph my work and display it on social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram.
In 2013 I qualified with a PME advanced diploma in the Art of Sugarpaste, Royal icing and Sugar flowers. The demand for my creations required me to toss away the oppression of my day job and follow my dream of being my own boss.
I returned to study in 2013 and completed a L2 Certificate in Patisserie and Confectionery at Westminster Kingsway College. I then went on to train to be a junior Pastry Chef at Paul Rhodes Bakery before leaving to work on the Shop and Airline production for the reputable Didier’s Patisserie.
For 3 years I worked hard at busy Central London restaurants gaining the title Chef de Partie, the long hours and little respite pushed me to work for myself full time.
I developed a delicious range of cake flavours and have delivered my cakes to stunning venues across London and Greater England. I’ve worked closely with some of the UK’s largest corporations, well-known celebrities and respected brands.
My business experience includes years of advising, planning & executing large to small events. I’m obsessive about detail and I believe with a huge amount of attention to it you’ll be proud to boast too. lol
